Resurgens Orthopaedics is Hiring a Phlebotomist - PRN Near Atlanta, GA

Description

SUMMARY

Phlebotomists are responsible for safely and accurately drawing blood samples from patients for medical diagnoses, 

procedures and tests.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Verifies patient identification and explains blood draw procedure to patients
  • Obtains blood specimen by performing venipunctures
  • Maintains specimen integrity by using aseptic technique and following department procedures
  • Properly disposes of contaminated supplies
  • Observes adherence to rule and regulation mandated by OSHA
  • Working with the supervising provider and clinical team

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • Successful completion of allied health program, such as certified medical assistant, certified phlebotomy preferred
  • Basic understanding of medical terminology 

SKILL/ABILITIES

  • Excellent phone skills, ability to communicate with patients and medical personnel effectively and efficiently
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Intermediate knowledge of computer systems
  • Knowledgeable of medical privacy laws, as confidential information will be included in scheduling documentation.
  • Strong Organizational Skills with great Attention to Detail
  • Problem Solving Skills required
  • Demonstrated Conflict Management Skills required

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, and to talk and hear. Employee will be required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Employee must occasionally lift, push and/or move up to 20 pounds. Employee may be required to operate various types of orthopaedic equipment necessitating manual dexterity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT 

The work environment is typical of a physician practice. While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to risk of infectious diseases when interacting with patients and/or family members. The employee may be occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
